I know people take the SATs. But is the ACT necessary? Is it good to take both?

yes it is best to take Both. A lot of schools allow you to opt out of taking SAT subject test if you take the ACT. I personally prefer the ACT over the SAT!

The ACT tests what you’ve learned through high school and apply it to the test, whereas the SAT is what College Board describes it as, a ‘reasoning test.’ The SAT is a bit more strategical or tricky. Take both because you will probably do significantly better on one as opposed to the other.

The ACT is just another college entrance exam. In some areas of the US the ACT is much more common than the SAT. So you are probably not from around here indie.
