I've seen 50%(collegeboard), 47%, 42%(usnews), and even >50%.

I'm guessing it is about 50%, but is that overall? or EA/ED? or just RD?

You’re making me mad.

lol. This thread is serious though. Disregard my username.

lol, sorry man. But I think it’s somewhere around 50%.

Its 49.96% but you could just say 50%.

You can the admission statistics for the admitted class of 2009 here [Office of Undergraduate Admissions: About Michigan](Explore & Visit | University of Michigan Office of Undergraduate Admissions)

it’s about 30% for OOS, and a lot higher for in state (b/c of in state mandatory rules)

What is it for in state?

Hmm… anyone know ED/EA acceptance rate.
btw thanks wolf.

For the class of 2012, in-state acceptance rate was 58% (overall 46%).

^
source?
10 char

Last year the collegeboard acceptance rate said 50% until april, when it changed to 42%. I think this April it will probably change again to some lower number.

Does waitlist acceptance count? As part of the acceptance rate

what in-state mandatory rules does michigan have?

The alumni association published the stats for just that year. You may be able to search for it on CC … otherwise you will just have to take my word for it.

I’ll take your word. :)

Overall acceptance rate (source: common data set):

2009-10: 50%
2008-09: 42%
2007-08: 50%
2006-07: 47%

The alumni association data might not be complete. For example, it didn’t include international applicant data; domestic acceptance rate was reported to be 45%, compared to 42% from the common data set.

okay, I have a hunch. I believe that if someone starts an application, they count it even if they don’t finish to make themselves look like a pretty tough place to get into albeit I haven’t gotten in yet sigh. So once a kid sees that you have to get two recs and write three essays, they say * it. idk what you guys think but it is just a theory of mine

No, it doesn’t work that way. Only submitted applications are counted.

you guys think it will drop because Michigan is on the common app now?

most def.

more people are gonna apply (since it’s more convenient), and the size of the incoming class is constant so the acceptance rate will have to decrease.
