What is the real difference between Maths I and Maths II?

Hey. I'm retaking my SATII's in november and I'm asking to see what is the exact difference between the 2 subject tests! I'm applying ED to Princeton or Cornell and my intended major is mathematics so I'm wondering which one I should take.

btw- I already have a score in one of them but I'm asking which one is better to submit!

thanks
Alex

Math II, especially if you're planning to be a math major. Unfortunately, I think Math II is kind of skewed by the fact that 10% of test takers (myself included) score a perfect 800 on it, so not having a perfect score already hurts your overall percentile. On the other hand, Math I, to me, indicates more of a weakness in math. If you feel you're up to the challenge, take II.

What about the curves overall? I've heard Math I is brutal because so many people take it.

Math II includes more upper level math including trig. In past years, Math II tended to have a better curve. Not sure what will happen this year. California students, who are often 35% or more of all SAT II test takers are no longer taking Math I since the UCs will not accept it beginning with entry class of 2006 and many of those from California who would have chosen math I will likely take math II this year.
