What is the SAT II Literature all about?

I constantly see people saying that literature is the hardest test out there...

I saw one of those free online practice books from CollegeBoard and all there was in the Literature section was 3 texts and you just had to answer questions about their ideas and the subtle messages in them, etc. You basically just had to analyse a text.

Is this really what the entire Literature test includes?

Pretty much. I didn't find it hard, but that's likely because I have spent more time in my life reading than sleeping. So if you read deeply, I'd think you'd have a better shot than most.

Well, to be honest I try to avoid anything with large ammounts of text in it, including books. I don't read much if at all. I've only ever read 2 decently-sized books in my life and that's because I had to for an assignment.

However, in Literature classes, even when we're discussing literature that i've never heard of in my life (tho everyone else seems to have) , I could answer every single analytical question the teacher asked , as long as it wasn't connected with facts from the book or names.

I took the CollegeBoard Literature practice test from the booklet and I got all answers right, tho I have to admit, the Shakespere-like text is extremely hard to read and understand.

So it just doesn't seem really that hard. You don't need literatirc education or knowledge of texts. There's one right infront of you and you can answer it just by your general culture and understanding, in most of the cases....

I tend to agree with you, but I attribute my success at it to reading because it seems that others find the test hard, so I assume I'm not a brilliant exception but rather somebody who's just immersed myself in that stuff. It may just come easily to you though.
