What is the social life at Williams like for non-Div. 3 athletes?

My D is a current Williams student. She’s not an athlete or a musician (two of the most popular extracurricular groups) nor is she super outdoorsy, although she’s spent many summers at an outdoorsy summer camp that she loved. She grew up in a major city and is artsy and politically progressive. She’s found a great group of friends and has gotten involved in the radio station, the newspaper, and some political groups. Her friends are involved in a variety of activities from varsity teams to club sports like ultimate frisbee to acapella, dance, and more. While I don’t think she goes to a lot of the big parties that seem to be thrown by sports teams, she seems to have a friend’s birthday party or gathering almost every weekend. She goes to the movies regularly at the incredible independent movie theater that’s on Spring Street. It’s a gem that shows a wide variety of films. Good luck with your decision.

A few more suggestions:

• Go to the admissions office’s Connect With a Student page and read the student profiles. I bet that you find at least one student who shares some of your interests. Don’t be shy–reach out to that student or students. https://www.williams.edu/admission-aid/connect/ask-an-eph/
