What is the use for SAT Subject Tests?

Why do people take them? Do they have to take the regular SAT as well, or does it replace it?

SAT Subject Tests are specialized for subjects. I took them for Physics, US History and Math 2. Some colleges require them, others don’t. And they don’t replace the SAT, they are separate.

SAT Subject Tests are required by a few colleges (very few, in the grand scheme of things) and they don’t replace the regular SAT. You also can’t get college credit for them or anything…their purpose is to allow you to show your knowledge of subjects you probably learned in class.

Thanks guys! @Halcyonheather, I have a question that is off of topic, but would it be better to take AP Calculus AB, or Dual-Enroll at my local CC for Calculus I?

AP Calculus AB.

You can take some in order to get credit for other subjects in college.
