The rain really isn’t that bad; I live in Oregon and the rain level in Seattle is roughly the same as we have here. I have really no problem with the rain – and this is after I moved from Tennessee, which is really sunny all the time.

I’m curious now – you say you’re an international student. Where are you from?

even though we have rain and clouds (which do get old after a while), i will tell you that it actually is absolutely beautiful here year-round. i actually love the campus size because i definitely need something big like this school. its spread out but all relatively close at the same time.
i guess the only bad thing i can think of is that sometimes you do just wish it would stop raining haha but its really quite bearable, dont worry

I must’ve been in the really crappy hall, then.

I know that the U of O honors college housing is REALLY nice. I don’t know about all the rest of the halls… I just have the one building I was in at summer camp for reference, so I may have just assumed the worst based on one building.

I would have to go with housing. Most people get apartments early on, actually the person who designed UW dorms designed prison cells [fun fact].

But, the clusters arent bad, and I’ve heard you don’t want to live on south campus (although the freshmen only dorm, Lander, is there).

The foods alright, you’ll get sick of it, but there are a ton of places to go eat on the Ave. Mm, and the weather you’ll get used to. Yes, it rains a lot, but at least its not freezing. It’s rare to get a lot of snow, this year being an exception.

Most freshmen classes are huge lectures, but those are divided into quiz sections which are headed by TAs. Registering for classes can get frustrating, you wake up at 5 and click until you get your classes. The servers are super slow that day.

I’ve heard that you should choose dorms on north campus. McCarty/McMahon - McMahon has cluster style rooming, so go for that if you want something like that.
