what is there to do in College Station?

I live in a VERY RURAL part of SW VA....and for the most part I like it!

so I was just curious how much there is to do in college station? Is there any shops/stores/movies theathers/etc within walking distance of the campus?

Thanks,

Sarah

anyone?? know anything?

Dixie Chicken for starters

Really just look it up on internet. There is a good amount of things to do in Northgate or Brian or whatever

There are plenty of typical things for college students - movies, food, stores, etc. But College Station is not an amazing college town by any means. The school defines the town.

If you get bored, you can always salute the statue.

Northgate-restaurants, bars, etc
Post Oak Mall
Theatres, bowling, etc

There's not a ton of things to do, but you'll keep busy

for 4 years ?

Yes. No matter where you go, most students spend the vast majority of their time time, studying, drinking, and chilling in their dorms. Yes, CS doesnt have the big city attractions of a Dallas or Houston, but its still a good college town.

yeah i'm not doubting that.....
btw i read somewhere that most(+70%) of the students are active christians, is this true ? If so how does it affect the social scene ?

Are there any popular arcades? Any good places to play video games? Okay, let me stop beating around the bush. Does anyone know where I can play Pump it Up Zero or Pump it Up NX (though I doubt anyone knows)? Pump it Up is a korean 5 panel dancing game similar to DDR. That's really all I want to know.

There's a lot of Christians, but most arent strict fundamentalists. There's a lot of drinking if that's your thing. Not as much drinking as at t.u. and definitely not as many drugs, but there's still a ton.

Just about anything you can do anywhere else. I doubt you will ever have time to get bored.

that is good news

i am looking for a school not so 420 but more booze :D haha

Thats CS then. Alcohol is viewed as way more acceptable here than pot.
