Does anyone know what a class entitled "European Literature-Philosophy Masterpieces" is? Is that a fancy name for Lit Hum?

Yes, it's just Lit Hum.

Thanks. Have any other freshmen found themselves newly registered for Lit Hum or Frontiers of Science on the Student Services On-Line page? I guess they're registering people today.

it is unavoidable. it is your desssssss-tiny.

I found that I was registered for University Writing (I'm in SEAS)... eww 9:10 am class. I hope my professor is good.

Yes! UW-6:10-7:25! and Lit Hum 2:10-4:00! Awesome Placing Columbia!
But the weird thing is my Lit Hum class is in Pupin, I thought that all Lit Hum classes are taught in Hamilton..oh well

most are but they inevitably spill into places like pupin and hartley due to space constraints

hartley? That's a res hall. Do they have classrooms too? Or is there another Hartley building?

There is one classroom in Hartley I believe. My first semester Lit Hum class was actually in the one classroom in Carman, though my instructor, disgusted with this, forced the administration to yield a Hamilton classroom to us.

there are some 1st-floor classrooms in hartley. and my freshman year UW class (called Logic & Rhetoric back then) was in pupin. it wasn't too awkward.

The main problem with those rooms in Pupin they assign to spillover humanities classes is that most of them have no windows.

My Lit Hum class was in the Carman classroom too, except it was last year. What are the odds?

How did you guys find out your class schedule already?

I just checked SSOL and clicked on Student Schedule and I only have...

Jack McGourty's DES FUND USING ADV COMP. Any info? Thanks.

Can we begin to register for classes now?

that's gateway lab for SEAS students. you work on team project skills using modeling software or a real-world pro bono task for a local organization in need of assistance. Jack lectures on the way projects get done in the real world.

gateway is a terrible class and should be taken out of the curriculum

Anyone knows when they put the Lit Hum teachers up?

I believe they put up the Lit Hum teachers AFTER the first class.

Columbia2002: what do you do if your scheduled core classes conflict with some of the classes you plan to take (ex. Intens. Gen. Chem, Acc. Physics)????
Is there any way to change your preregistered schedule?

Yes, those are precisely the circumstances under which they'll let you change core sections.
