What is this question asking?

<p>I'm working on my application for University of San Diego and was wondering if anyone could explain what exactly is being asked in this question... </p>

<p>"As a Catholic University committed to building a more inclusive community, USD values students with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Briefly explain how your unique background and interests will contribute to our community." </p>

<p>Is it asking for my basic intrests (such as extracurriculars) or is it looking for a more religion based approach?
I would really really appreciate the help! :)

<p>Neither, or both- its talking about diversity, what makes you different from anyone else applying. It can be a character or personality attribute, it can be a unique aspect of your faith, a unique activity you do, just something that makes you different</p>
