So I submitted everything required of an RD application EXCEPT the Peer Recommendation (my friend never finished it in time! ... ), which means (or at least I thought it meant) that my application is incomplete. And I never thought about Dartmouth again. I never received an acknowledgment of my application at any point, either.

Except today I received an RD notification email (!?!?) that says my admissions decision will be available 5pm March 31st, etc.

I believe that Peer Rec. was recommended, but not required. Sounds like they followed through with reviewing your application anyway So what’s the problem? If you are accepted, then you’ll have a decision to make. If not, then you are back to where you thought you were…no Dartmouth in the big picture.

lol… I asked two friends, thinking that if one couldn’t be depended on, I’ll always have the other. I made the mistake of telling both of them that, and in the end neither of them did one.

Anyway, I followed the link ([Check Your Application Status](<a href=“Home | Dartmouth Admissions”>Home | Dartmouth Admissions)) and used the Lookup Form to get a username and password, but it won’t let me. My feeling is that there is no file of me at Dartmouth - why else don’t I have an account?

Way to bring me up and drop me down I’ll probably call tomorrow though.

worry not, mine was sent at 1:00 pm on the dot, considerly earlier, but I was rejected at Chicago today. I’m also an international seeking aid, so there are two signs against me. Against me = for you = if timestamps even mean anything at all, you should be glad.

Edit: wait… nevermind… Dartmouth is need-blind.

I wouldn’t worry about time, I don’t think they could send out several thousand emails all at once…or maybe they could, I don’t really know anything about technology.

And I don’t know how important the peer rec is…the likely I got was dated the day after my friend sent in the peer rec she wrote for me (late)

That reminds me of the email I got from UChicago asking me to check my decision status, which puzzled me because I only sent in the supplement (nothing else!) before my Dartmouth ED decision was posted. So when I logged onto UChicago’s website, they told me they’ve removed my application from the files because of its incompleteness…

But I wouldn’t worry too much about this one. I don’t think a peer rec is 100% necessary for them to make a decision… like an alumni interview, it serves to boost your app - unless the rec is very poorly written (not likely). Good luck!
