What is UC GPA?

I see a lot of people writing their UC GPA instead of just the regular GPA so I was wondering what is actually was. I did some googling before and found out that UC GPA is calculated from the a-g courses? Not sure what that is. I also saw the way UC calculates GPA A+ and A being 4.0 and A- being a 3.7, but if my school doesn't use the plus/minus system and all my A's are just regular A's, do they still count as a 4.0?

Thanks for help.

I believe so

UC GPA would be your transferable units completed at your college. You can see which courses transfer on Assist.org

A-G courses are strictly for high school applicants. So that doesn’t apply in this thread.

And yes…your A’s will count as a 4.0

UC GPA would be your UC transferable units. Basic skill courses and CSU classes are not part of your UC GPA.
