<p>I'm going there in the fall, and unfortunately the only thing I know is that it is a huge sports school. It's a pretty good public school, but I visited there and it is definitely too party and sport oriented for me. What programs is it known for? Here, in Florida, it is known as the "ULTIMATE VALUE" since it's free if you meet a few very basic requirements. So, what academic departments are its best? Thanks</p>

<p>If you're motivated, you can get a good education in just about any area you choose. If you want o party, there's certainly plenty of that available. My daughter's English teacher talks about their "one year scholarships". That's because if you don't maintain your GPA at a certain level you lose your scholarship the following year.</p>

<p>UF is pretty solid in all fields. Just off the top of my head, undergrad biz school is ranked 13th. I know its med school is top notch...not sure bout much else. If youre instate, it really is the ultimate value. I think quality supercedes its USnews ranking.</p>
