Can anyone tell me what the out of state acceptance rate is for for UMich?. Alexandre : could you help me out here for the exact stats?

I would like to know too…bump.

Same here!!!

i was wondering the same thing

You may want to read this thread for a current estimate:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-michigan-ann-arbor/11285-out-state-acceptance-rate-about-15-a.html

Definitely between 20-30%.

On another thread, the overall acceptance rate for this year is 49% and the in-state acceptance rate is 63%. So, dividing the sum of both of these acceptance rates by 2, can we assume that the out of state acceptance rate this year is 35%?

That assumes the number of in-state applicants is equal to the number of out-of-state applicants, so that calculation is wrong.

Well does anyone know the percentage of instaters vs. OOS in UMich? Then we could get an accurate number.

Okay I got it. From this article: [‘U’ sees record number of applications, decrease in yield | The Michigan Daily](<a href=“http://www.michigandaily.com/content/2009-07-13/u-receives-record-number-applicants-third-straight-year]'U”>'U' sees record number of applications, decrease in yield) 63% of all applicants were in-state. Assuming that the numbers aajjc gave are correct (49% overall and 63% for in-state), the out-of-state acceptance rate must be 25% for out-of-state students.

Ahhh that’s so unfair. Instaters are soooo lucky.

Alexandre…where are you?

Give him a day dude. This thread was started 10 hours ago.

Michigan does not publish official figures on acceptance rates broken down by in-state, OOS or international. I wish it did. I estimate that the acceptance rate for OOS students is somewhere around 30%.
