Would getting into UNC Chapel Hill as an out-of-state student be about as difficult as an ivy, or less? What would you compare it to?

it is as difficult because of quotas. unc can only admit up to 18% from out of state, so it is VERY difficult to get in. It is the MOST difficult out of state public to get into because of this. I would say that it is as hard as like brown, cornell, dartmouth, columbia for the ivies...

so basically if you don't think you can get into an ivy you shouldn't apply to unc out-of-state?

well. it is A LITTLE easier to get in than the ivies, but dont forget, the ivies are VERY random. they may accept someone who has a 1300 SAT and 3.7 gpa, while rejecting someone who has a 1600 SAT and 4.0 gpa.....

what is your SAT, gpa, ACT(if you took it)?

4.4 weighted
3.96 unweighted
top 4% of 1000+ class of very competitive school
33 ACT

the reason i don't think i could get into the ivys is my poor ECs and recommendations. I've really just been working for the past few years, not many clubs. I thought maybe I could get into UNC out-of-state.
