I go to the only high school park in the country. We have three high schools on one campus and you go to classes in all of them, even though you have one "home" school. Therefore, who else can say they go to their classes with their biggest rivals? Lol.

Little things... one of our teachers likes to run into kids in the hallway with his scooter =]. It's hilarious.

This whole switching posts things has gotten really bad.

What are some great, unique things in your high school?

What are your favorite "little things" that go on (such as a teacher telling kids to bring in a snack once a month), what are your favorite clubs, etc.? Just tell us about something that is unique (and good).

We have a 15 minute break (after. 2nd period) It saves my back (I can actually put some books away) - AND I can eat breakfast. Sooo, it's nothing big but it helps me a lot.

We only have 5 hours of instruction a day... we have 30 minutes of advisory one day, 30 minutes of tutorial the next. Really the people make the school very unique. 80% of the staff at my school went to the same college, almost everyone is under 30. The world history teacher had more math than the math teacher, and the math teacher will be teaching her younger brother math in 3 years at my school. The science teacher went to an "upper tier" school (the only one to do so) was raped, stalked, and 90% of her family is bipolar--including her. Oh... and the principal of our "mini-magnet" science school has a BA or MA in English. Oh... the English teacher holds 7 degrees and is leaving for law school.

aeneas-yes you do have a 1st hour, it's called 2nd hour :)

i also have a 10-15 minute break after 2nd, so that's always pretty nice. another thing unique about my school is that we always go to nationals with our Aca Deca team! That's about the only publicity we ever get. Hopefully i'll continue the trend in a couple years.

Almost no one in my school speaks only one language. I'm one of the select few that don't speak another language fluently (which really saddens me). Most kids speak Spanish, the others speak Korean, Russian, Japanese, French, and Italian.

My school is both an Emerging Computer Technology and Performing and Visual Arts magnet in the middle of the ghetto. I think it's the only countywide school, so there are people from every socioeconomic level, yet it is still the "hood" school at the same time. Some parts of the school are hidden gems under the rough surface.

my school doesnt have lockers, except in the gym for PE use (they're less than 1x1x1 ft.) we have a German principal, and I allow the school to be graced with my presence....(totally jk, im not that stuck up)
