I see so many people put things like “NHS member” and “President of NHS” on their applications, sometimes people with like 3.0 GPA and below 2000 SAT… National Honor Society?? how honorable is this?? do colleges really look at this EC and say “wow, this student is really smart they are president of NHS at their school”
I wonder if it is even worth investing time and energy into being president of NHS (in terms of strengthening an application) if colleges won’t take it seriously.
It isn’t as much that you are president, but what you do as president. Do you organize tutoring sessions? etc etc. Just like if you were the president of any other club.
