what is wellesley really like

are the people over there very competitive?? and does life without boys get really boring after a while? is it easy to make friends etc

Wellesley women have high expectations of themselves, so I’d say that they’re competitive in the sense that they generally try to be the best students in their classes. However, people are friendly and often work together/study in groups. It’s definitely easy to make friends, especially during your first year. There are plenty of organizations where you can meet people with similar interests.

I wouldn’t say that being a Wellesley student precludes interacting with men. It’s easy to go to Cambridge on the weekends, where you can go to parties or meet up with friends at Harvard and MIT. Lots of Wellesley women end up dating students from nearby schools.

thanks ,that was helpful :)

I agree with Marriecc1! I’m a first year so I haven’t actually attending Wellesley for school yet… However, when I visited during Spring Open Campus, my host took me and a few other girls on the Peter Pan (the shuttle) to MIT and Harvard. It only took about 30-40 minutes and it was a direct ride there. It’ll take more effort to meet guys than a co-ed school would, but I think the all-women environment really makes up for it! Boston’s a college town so it shouldn’t be difficult at all (and think of all the selection you’ll have!)
