It’s june 1st

yeah the deadline for the bear facts orientation is june 1st the fee is 250 dollars

after june 2nd, the fee goes up 300 dollars

everyone should try to make it. its a good opportunity to meet new people and get to know the campus better. its an overnight orientation so you’ll get to see what the dorms are like. everyone will be staying at pentland so if you applied it will be nice to see what its like. you can also get to know the dorm food (which is mostly not good) so you can decide to change your meal plans if you want before school starts if you can but you can always change your meal plan after school begins though there is a deadline, this is what i did, i couldnt stand the dorm food. you also get to sign up for your classes earlier than those you dont go to orientation. your parents do not have to go though some would like to see the school. it gets VERY hot so be prepared, theres alot of walking involved

My mistake - I thought there was a fee waiver, but now I remember that you can only defer it. Thanks Jason2009.

Yes, so if you’re griping about spending $250, just make sure you sign up for orientation before the deadline or it will go up to $300. This fee will seems like nothing compared to what you actually have to pay for tuition and housing. And books, and food, etc.

It’s a nice experience; I met a few people who I am good friends with now. I was lucky to get a really cool roommate for orientation. Yes, you get to see how Pentland dorms and the campus are like. Yeah, there is a lot of walking and it’s hot (bring lots of water!).

If anything, go for the class registration! If you really don’t care THAT much, then don’t go. But also, don’t complain about 7-8 a.m. or 6-7 p.m. classes or classes not being available at all. Earlier orientation = earlier chance to register. I went to the third to last date for my college’s (CHASS) orientation and the only English classes they had left were the 7-8 a.m. and 6-7 p.m. ones. I couldn’t even take any major/prereq courses yet because they were closed, so I got stuck with all breadth requirements.

RE: the overnight portion of bfo.

So Day 1 is from 9am-7:30pm. But what is the time schedule for Day 2??? I need confirmation on the time so I can determine if my sister needs to stay overnight for 1 or 2days.

The schedule for Day 2 is shorter, so your sister would only have to stay overnight between Days 1 and 2. Last year, it ended in the afternoon and I remember moving out and returning my key at around 5:00 p.m. and I was on the road by 6:00 p.m.

im taking the Math Analytical Exam (MAE) at BFO but I still need to register for it, but the Placement and Advisory Examination site says they are no longer taking submissions so now I’m waiting for a response I e-mailed to Vincent Norga (the Coordinator, Mathematic Advisory Exam & Chemistry Placement Exam).

They do offer MAE at the orientation but you will be missing out on the most fun social activity they have set up for you, PLAYFAIR lol

And people didnt sign up for it. they just took the people who didnt take MAE

@ thelunatic: ok so I don’t need to register/sign up for it? I just show up for BFO and take the test then right? do I defer the fee or can I just pay them up front?

dunno about the fee, I heard that there was a forty dollar fee to sign up from an email that I received on webmail, but I’m not sure what exactly happened -

I don’t think anyone ended up paying because it would be kinda messed up to not allow kids to register for classes because they didn’t have any money

does anyone know about the UCR Deans mandatory orientation. what happens if u dnt go? I mean UCR exagerates with all their mandatory this and that
