Tawny, just forget about USC then. They might be thinking too highly of themselves this year.
I know you really want your USC decision, but getting into Harvard already proved your talents and character.
Best of luck to ya.

i didn't apply to harvard or usc but...
if tawny gets into harvard and not usc, then usc needs to get its head out of its... well... you know!

I'll probably go to Texas McCombs, unless I get into UCLA on my appeal (my school screwed up my schedule this year and didn't report 3 college classes).

In my school there are about 20 kids who haven't heard back from USC yet, while some of us about 10 of us have already recieved their admissions packets. Don't worry. My friends Northwestern admissions package got redirected to China and my rejection letter from U.Va got redirected to Sweden ^_^

FYI, still waiting for a decision in WI. Not upset about it because I have to visit some east coast schools next week before I decide anyway. Hopefully the letter will make it here before the snow melts.

April 10th, no decision. I sent an email to the lady that interviewed me in NYC as well as the regional admissions officer. I guess I will be awaiting a response from them. I wonder if I'll get a decision before May 1?

I finally called today... the guy said that it was weird I hadn't heard yet, asked what I applied to, and said the Cinema-TV school will be calling me back today about the matter.

I better hear something! I'm leaving for NYC tomorrow...

Well, they just called me... and I was REJECTED.

I'm a little ****ed off... a little amused...

I mean... accepted to Harvard, and not USC?

This randomness seems to be the story of my life.

That sux tawny. It happens...although getting accepted to Harvard is itself way cool! Don't feel down. Best of luck wherever you go.

How did you react to it? If I were you I would've been like, "Haha, I find that rather funny. You rejected me but HARVARD accepted me? Go **** yourself"

Anyways, I still think you got screwed. Weren't you the person who they changed from a transfer to a freshman only really recently? No **** they rejected you.

College admissions are entirely random nowadays.

CNTV is EXTREMELY difficult to get into. I believe the acceptance rate to CNTV is actually lower than Harvard's overall acceptance rate. It probably had nothing to do with your grades but more to do with the creative work that you contributed.

Well yeah CNTV is VERY hard. But I can still get into USC in general if I don't get into that program.
If you get rejected from film, you get accepted as Undeclared or whatever your 2nd choice was.

Go to Harvard!! They took like what, 5 percent of applicants this year? I wasn't one of the 7 percent Princeton took this year, but if I was, I'd go there over USC-Annenberg

"Well yeah CNTV is VERY hard. But I can still get into USC in general if I don't get into that program.

My theory is that only admits and waitlisted applicants recieve the "Undecided" acceptance....I don't think USC could afford to offer an "Undecided" to all CNTV applicants even if they exceed the University's standard for admitted students.

Mybe not, but it sounds logical. Just my two cents worth. CONGRATULATIONS ON HARVARD! Reading that acceptance letter must have been the most important moment of your life! Seriously, you need to frame it, even if you don't enroll (I assume you will; who turns down Harvard?!).

USC was my Harvard, and it felt great......at the end of the day, we both got what we wanted, so SMILE!

tawny, I'm with you. I just got an email telling me I was rejected. I'm pretty ****ed off because I felt that I was more than qualified, but I wouldn't have gone to USC anyway at this point.

You can always join us at UCLA.
USC admissions is startin to think their Stanford... (esp. the board of directors).
It's nice that USC is really looking (obsess) about the rankings, but atleast they can handle other ppl's apps with more consideration (i.e. Tawny and Dogerblue) considering that Apr. 1st was their own deadline.

USC is not the only college with deadline problems.

Dodgerblue... an e-mail? Perhaps one of the reasons USC is getting a new Admissions Director. Much needed it seems. Admissions were off the wall this year and really screwed up too and an e-mail rejection on 4/10?
Nice.

Makes me feel even better about turning them down.

My son's friend was admitted to UPenn with a scholarship. Rejected from USC--we think.
