So i basically just submitted my application to Stanford (SCEA). After submitting the supplement the green arrow appeared. After submitting the common app the green arrow also appeared. But when i checked "my colleges" five minutes later, the Stanford supplement had a yellow box next to it (indicating that it was somehow not received or something to that end). Do you guys know what is going on?

Please help,
Thank you

Also, both of my teachers (and my counsellor) are submitting my recommendations offline. How do I specify this in my application?

The exact same thing happened to my D. She did tell me that she saw a prompt that her app and supplement were submitted. She did this on 10/20. She has yet to get any email from Stanford giving her instructions on how to check the status of her application. She called them after school today (we are on Central Time) and there was a long message saying that due to the high volume of emails, etc that it could take up to 2 weeks for them to send any email confirmation or instructions on how to check on application status. I think that as long as you got a "application submitted" confirmation from the Common App website, you should be okay. I also read elsewhere that the yellow icon that is appearing on supplemental applications is a system glitch with the Common App. Nice, isn't it?

Thank you very much. I sent a query to common app and I am currently awaiting a response - if your daughter hasn't already done the same thing I think its worth trying. I am having the same issue with my "teacher forms" section. My counsellor and teachers are all submitting my materials offline, but the commonapp requires that their forms are submitted "online" to officially send that part of the application in. At this stage, I am very nervous that a part of my application will not be received.

I told D to wait until Monday, November 3 since that will be 2 weeks since she sent her early app and supplement online to see if she gets an email from them. If there is nothing, then she will call on November 4!
Did you try calling the admissions office and listen to the voice message directed to SCEA students? That did reassure her anyway.
Good luck.

Some of the color-coded icons are glitched up -- don't worry about the yellow square/red arrow/green arrow as long as you got a Common App email confirming successful submission of the application.

As far as offline recommenders, add your recommenders online with their emails, invite them and then tell them to "opt out" of the online system.

Sadface - I am in the same boat as you, the supplement now says "downloaded 10/28" though the indicator is still a yellow box.

Navr91 - Concerning my "Stanford APP In" thread, the title was somewhat fallacious. At the time I created it, I had submitted only my payment and my common app (not my supplement). The title was intended to draw more attention - and judging by your post, I am sure it has. Thank you though for your concern.

Well, it's not just the title. You started out the post by saying,

"Hey everyone,

I just submitted my Stanford early action application, and as I cannot change any of the information or scores or such, I was wondering if you guys/gals would take a look at my stats and chance me..."

Hmm, I'm glad to see you have conducted a thorough investigation about my credibility. Though I do appreciate your efforts to debunk me, I think your spending too much time focusing on a trivial, yet calculated, mistake. I didn't mean any harm - I just wanted to boost the chance of that thread.

Wow people are really ganging up on me about this one... As I've said - I APOLOGIZE - why don't other users who post blatantly fallacious thread titles like "2.0 G.P.A where can i go???" and then follow this by saying "G.P.A 4.0" get railed by others... Just please drop it.

Case in point: My Stanford (SCEA) application is IN, and the issue with the colored indicators is RESOLVED.

I don't think it has anything to do with the order in which you submit the parts. In fact, when I called Stanford, I was told that they prefer to have the parts submitted in the following order:

Anyhow, I finally got a reply from the common app and they said, and i'm paraphrasing is "yes, our system is broken. don't worry about it. have a nice life."

Still, the next day the arrow next to the Stanford app turned green so i guess everything turned out alright. Now it's just up to fate (and how hammered the admissions officer is when reading my essay)
