What is your 2012 Transfer Plans and Current/Expected GPA?

CC Transfer
Major: Psych
IGETC: Complete
Pre-Reqs: Will be complete for most schools
GPA: 4.0 - hopefully it stays that way  I should have 65ish transferable units
Applying to: UCSD (TAG), UCLA, UCB, UCSB, USC, Stanford (why not try?)

Originally was leaning heavily towards USC/UCLA because they both have good programs and are close to home. However, I recently found out UCSD has a contiguous BS/MS Degree program that is only open for UCSD Psych (BS) majors. They also have areas of concentration Iā€™m highly interested in. So UCSD has become more favorable in my eyes. We shall see what happens in Spring

Good luck to everyone!!

@wwlink

you have a 3.1 GPA from CC? why Davis over Irvine?

Just got my Summer English 1B Grade (final english in sequence) - A (YAY!)

so my UC GPA is 3.28

i should be pretty much at Davis for sure for TAG now. so happy this is finally gonna happen to me @ 22 years old.

thank you to many of you for opening my eyes to a world out their other than SFSU & CSU. I always figured i needed like a 3.6,3.7 or something from CC to attend a UC.

@UCkittychen

Iā€™m 22 too! Glad to know Iā€™m not the oldest kid around here :D

CC to UCI, hopefully
3.08 gpa after grades come in from summer '11, hopefully a 3.5 by time of transfer.

Is it difficult to transfer? Am I even on the same playing field as other transfer students with my gpa? Does SAT score matter?

LAladyy

blahhhh are we thatttt old OMG! ill be at Irvine/Davis @ 23 :(

CC Transfer
Major: Political Science
IGETC: I need to take 1 math course (Fall 2011) and one physical science w/o a lab (Spring 2012) to be IGETC certified
Pre-Reqs: Will be completed 100% for Davis by Fall 2011
GPA: Currently 3.67
Applying to: UCSB(TAG), UCD, UCSD, UCLA, UCB, UCSC, and UCR (Will most likely choose UCD over everything).

I had 40 units at the end of Spring 2011 and was taking 9 units this Summer but dropped 2 classes and Withdrew from one so I could backpack around Europe for 2 months (had a sudden attack of spontaneity), which is also the reason Iā€™ve been not so active on CC.

Iā€™m taking 13 units this fall and 12 in the Spring, so Iā€™ll be at a clean 65. Iā€™m 19, turning 20 in September.

Applying to UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCD, UCI, UCM as a PSYCHOLOGY MAJOR.
3.73-3.75 by the end of Fall
Iā€™ve been at CC for two years, almost three.
I have completed approx. 110 semester unitsā€¦

Chances?

ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– @ Hayward,

???

[strikethrough] Davis? [/strikethrough]

Yes? And OMG, Amy Winehouse died!

i thought you were gonna TAG Davis?

You want to hear from someone really old?!? I am 58 and am planning to TAG to Davis fall 2012. Life got in the way (owning a business, marriage, raising 2 daughters, etc) and now itā€™s finally my turn! I have over 80 transferable units and a 3.9 gpa.

I donā€™t think Iā€™m eligible because I took 11 units in Spring 2011, making me 1 unit shy of being a full time student. They state in their TAG matrix that you must be a full time student in the preceding Spring and year before you transfer.

I donā€™t want to send my TAG app to davis and get rejected. Iā€™d rather send it into a surebet like UCSB.

@uckitty ā€¦ youā€™re a kid lol. Iā€™m 30 (just a bigger kid lol) and just transferred into UCD. Many of the incoming transfer class for '13 are over the age of 21. In fact there were three guys I met at the TRC who were over the age of 25, one woman was in her 30ā€™s, and another woman in her 40ā€™s.

But thatā€™s the cool part about college these days. You have to become well rounded and able to be around people from all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. In the end, it makes us better, educated citizens.

Plus UCD is just freakinā€™ dope lol.

@Inquiringmind ā€¦ HELL YEAH MAN! Do your thing bro and good luck.

Thanks! Actually I am a woman, not a Bro but you couldnā€™t know that! When I went to a transfer day at Davis and attended the Transfer Re-entry Center meeting there were people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50, and one woman was in her 70s. So I was very encouraged by that.
Hayward 1991: Donā€™t be discouraged. MyCC told me they make exceptions regarding the full time status before transferring with TAG. Some people donā€™t have to take that many classes their last semester at CC and they donā€™t want you paying for classes you donā€™t need. I also wasnā€™t full time last spring and I think Iā€™m ok. You could be eligible, check with your counselor.

70?

theeff?

@Inquiringmind ā€¦ my apologies! And did you meet with Shirley at the TRC? Sheā€™s retiring this year but she was so encouraging to all of us at the table.

@Hayward ā€¦ like IM said, donā€™t be discouraged and speak with your counselor about things.

2.4 with 45 units
Iā€™m hoping for a 3.0-3.4 by the time I transfer. I failed two noob classes but if I make them up Iā€™ll have 2.8-3.0. My GPA also suffered a lot because Iā€™ve been getting a lot of Cā€™s latelyā€¦ Chem major at UCD/UCSC

^whats wrong?

statmanaggie: Yes, I did meet with Shirley. She was so kind and encouraging. Sorry to hear that he is retiring.
