What is your act score and Sat score?

2170/32 I'm kind of rare in that my SAT score is actually higher than my ACT score. My ACT score would be higher though if my science score wasn't so low.

SAT - 1570/2400
ACT - 30/36

ACT saves me

2160/34 (34.25 argh!)

expecting around 2250 on my november 4 sat though.

MechRocket, I have a 34.25 too! So annoying. I'm just hoping that means it will translate to the upper bound of the SAT conversion (UC's conversion says a 34 converts to a 2280-2330 SAT; since I have the highest 34 possible, hopefully that would be recognized and be the equivalent of a 2330).

ACT: 35:)
SAT: 2200:(

What's the SAT equivalent of a 35 on the ACT guys/girls?? Thanks!!!

2270 vs a 34

2340/35.

The fact that practically everyone here has scored comparatively higher on the ACT than the SAT definitely says something about the accuracy of the conversion chart.

2060/33
i live in oklahoma though so I have been taking the act since 9th grade. out of 1500 kids we will usually have about 400+ take it every test date and on the SAT there is about 20 kids. the sat isn't stressed nearly as much as the act is.

34 and 2140

i got a 32 and 2070

"The fact that practically everyone here has scored comparatively higher on the ACT than the SAT definitely says something about the accuracy of the conversion chart."

I have a hunch that a Math + Verbal comparison would be kinder to the ACT. It's based purely on anecdotal evidence, but everyone I've talked to has comparable M+V and ACT scores with wildly varying case by case SAT writing sections. Colleges seem to put less stock in SAT writing, but I concede that this is probably because it's still so new.

First Time:
SAT M+V: 1260 (barely 500 writing)
ACT: 26

Second go with practice:
3 practice ACTs and the real test: 30-31 composite on all of them. (30 on the real thing)
SAT M+V (Official Study Guide): Trends up and levels off at 1320-60. (W remains in the 580s-490s)

Also, realize that most of the people on this site have received an excellent high school level education, so the relatively high concrete achievement scores shouldn't be a surprise. Conversely, the students in average/below average schools will probably score higher on the aptitude tests than achievement, assuming their full potential hasn't been met. The concordance tables just represent the middle ground between the two extremes.

This is just my own speculation based on scraps of information on the internet and elsewhere. Take it with a hefty grain of salt.

1280/1950/32.... definitely higher on ACT

33 vs 2030

34.25 vs. 2300

2250/33

SAT I Math: 770
ACT Math: 30

SAT I Essay: 11/12 (790)
ACT Essay: 8/12

SAT I Reading: 690
ACT Reading/English: 32/35

1640/29 (So much better, no?)

"The fact that practically everyone here has scored comparatively higher on the ACT than the SAT definitely says something about the accuracy of the conversion chart."

You also have to consider who takes the ACT. Ive noticed this board is mostly west coasters and students from the NE, where the SAT is king. So, a lot of the students on this board who take the ACT are students that didnt do so well on their SAT and they want other options.

thats jut my take.

If the ACT is an achievement test, why did the Collegeboard change the SAT from quasi-aptitude to mainly achievement also? I miss the old SAT. :\ Thank you Dr. Atkinson.

now a 2010 vs a 34

a 30 with writing v. a 1460 (m and V) on SAT; that like a 33

So I definately did better on the SAT, even with my bad writing score I got a ~ 32
