What is your current UW status?

I thought that depended on the application’s strength. All those who received a decision so far have strong records.

Maxxwell: Not sure I understand what you mean by looking at an unofficial transcript. Do you see the contents of your transcript (self-reported) or an indication that UW downloaded your transcript.

I see three items in the unofficial transcript:

[ol]
[] A table that gives
[li] Student Number[/li][] Birth Date
[] Class (FRESHMAN)
[] College
[] Major
[/ol]
[li] Summary of high school study giving years of english, math, science, social science, foreign language and art. This section also shows SAT Verbal/Math scores.[/li][] Cumulative Credit Summary (I think this gets filled if you report IB scores. idk, It shows 0 for me.)
Hope this answers your question.

Thanks Maxxwell, that answers my question. Hope you hear soon, positively, from the Honors school.

I see my unofficial transcript, and it says that I’m a member of the Freshman Class, College of Arts and Sciences, Pre-Science.

That means accepted, right?

I think so. Why else would they assign you a student number? However, I would wait for the letter to celebrate. Good luck!

@rational2 Thanks! Wish you all the best.

Thanks! I’ll wait until I get a letter to really celebrate.

my status finally changed!

yayyyyy

Neongreen,
when did your status change to “We have received…”?

Congrats to everyone who got accepted into UW or whose status finally changed! :)

I am still somewhat apprehensively waiting while they are trying to match my application with my SAT scores. I just hope they don’t spend too much time…

@iloveuw,

i don’t know, but i submitted my app a looong time ago, like octoberish. i don’t know why it took so long, maybe because i’m out of state? (i used to live in issaquah, sis went to UW.)

man i really wish they’d do online decisions, instead of waiting for snail mail :(

ohhh ic ok.
i’m trying to figure like how long it takes for them, on avg., to review…
i’m estimating Feb. for mine :P

P.S. : i live in issaquah area :)

oh i see. well, i was a bit concerned for the long wait too. uw is my safety, and being OOS, i guess it’s a bit risky. hopefully i’ll know soon.
anyway, i emailed UW’s admissions office a couple of days ago, and voila, my status changed. (although they sent back an email telling me to just check myuw)

do you go to either ihs or skyline? i have many friends that go there :)

hmm i’m a little worried that someone may figure out who i am from my school, if there are any in cc, since i posted my scores and everything, but oh wtheck. :stuck_out_tongue:
i go to skyline :)

@neon I am curious why you chose UW, an oos school, as your safety. Normally you hear people talking about in-state schools as their safeties. Do you prefer UW over UVa?

@ maxxwell
well, because i figure i would be accepted to uw? my stats are pretty good, ec are solid, grew up in the northwest, and i have legacy (however little it matters). my counselor and i agreed uw would be a safety, granted i applied early. although technically, it’s not a safety anymore, since i’ve already been accepted to michigan.
and to be completely honest, between uw and uva, i would really have to visit both places and see for myself. both are really good schools, and i would not mind going to either one. i will definitely be going to UW’s “welcome accepted students” thing if they have one of those.

@iloveuw
i totally understand hiding your identity. i hide what state i’m from haha. but yeah, you = asian + skyline + tennis probably means you’re great friends with my old buds. :D

So I got my letter today, which confirms for me that once the unofficial transcript is there, you’re in. I loved the UW’s sense of humor, my envelope was a regular sized purple business envelope, but said “The BIG Envelope” on it, as the UW doesn’t start sending out the larger welcome packets until later in January.

So I had about two days with my application as “We’ve received all your materials,” then I got “We’ve finished reviewing your application,” one day later my unofficial transcript went up, and one day after that I got my letter. Granted, I’m in Seattle so that could explain the speedy mail. The postmark of my letter matches the day my unofficial transcript appeared.

Okay so what does “awaiting review” mean? Its not initial review anymore but what’s the difference?

i know someone who got that too, but it’s not very common…
i think yours is in a pile of other apps waiting to be reviewed or it could be waiting to check if you have all your materials.

I think this means that they have picked up your app for review. Things should move faster from this point onwards. Don’t be surprised if you get the letter of admission in about a week or so. Please read this thread to see what happens next.

sweetgirl, what exactly does your status say?

My daughters is still “We have received all materials required to review your application. Your application will remain in this status until decisions are finalized. We will inform you by postal mail when a decision is made.” Been this way since Dec 8. She is getting antsy.
