What is your current UW status?

Sounds like today is the day for waitlists. My friend got waitlisted as well today.

A new status just popped up:
Congratulations! We are pleased to offer you admission to the University of Washington Seattle. A complete packet of information about admission and enrollment is mailed approximately 5 - 10 days from the date your admission status was updated in our data base. Please allow sufficient time for the mail to reach you, especially if you live out of state or out of the country. If you have already received your packet, you may choose to confirm or decline your enrollment online. The deadline to confirm your enrollment is May 1, 2010.

Wait listed today too.

@Jake43/Igi - You should appeal the decision. Since you’ve been waitlisted and not rejected, you’ll have an ‘easier’ time having a successful appeal than people who have been rejected. Just write an amazing letter. :)

@derryc - Congrats! What are your stats?

wait listed today too. gpa 3.8 sat 1840. i have good EC and community involvement. and i think my essay was decent. i just don’t understand how some of the people at my school can get in with 3.4 and lower gpas and low 1600s SAT. its confusing. especially when they have less EC as well. i guess its just back to waiting again… :(

I got accepted early March. Out-of-stater, 3.6 UW GPA, 31 ACT, 7 APs, decent ECs, and I’m pretty sure my strong points were my essays.

waitlist it is for me…i guess its better than getting rejected, should i go ahead and appeal?

ARrrrrgh, D was wait listed. I agree it is better than being rejected, but it forces her to accept at another college and I’m guessing jepordizes a decent Fin aid package. I feel so bad for her She REALLY wanted to go to UW for a particular program.

waitlisted. COMPLETE ********.

3.73 GPA
30 ACT
1940 SAT
LOADSSSSSSS of ECs
Great Essays

im mad. ive been waitlisted at three schools. complete…lots of four letter words.

My friend was wait-listed too. But honestly, I wasn’t surprised. Of course I didn’t say it to her though…

You guys should all appeal though if you really want to go to UW. I’m sure they will seriously consider it as if it were another app?

We’d all be shoe-ins for acceptances if they read our applications earlier =(

my friend emailed the admissions office, and they said it’s best for the waitlisted kids to just wait and not appeal, cuz if you get rejected after you’ve been put on the waitlist you can’t appeal again.

i know!! now here we go through the agonizing pain of waiting again…and most painful of all, secure a spot at another uni…>_<

It’s kind of a conundrum, you accept at another university, and you have to get into the mind set of going there and that this other univ will be your school, put down deposits and all the while wondering if enough people will decline UW and you’ll be offered a spot. Again so frustrating especially those like my D who applied in the fall, and being OOS I’d be paying a nice sum for her to go there, not that I have it. I think there is a bit of hope (although right now we feel burned by hope), the letter stated in 2008 only 300 something were admitted from the wait list and in 2009 more like 1300 were admitted. This could have been from the economic downturn, I remember hearing the trend last year was for more students to go to community college, particularly if fin aid was not met. I don’t think it’s gotten much better so could be the same story.

I want to correct a previous statement I made. I called the office of financial aid this morning. They told me if a student is accepted from the waitlist Financial aid will not be effected. They should recieve the same award. I was under the impression that fin aid was a 1st come 1st serve type of thing, but was assurred today that this was untrue.

My status today showed your app has been reviewed. Where does the unofficial transcript show if it has to?

you have to add the thing yourself from student services

Thanks UWhuskies. I got an acceptance email yesterday. Computer Engineering!!!

Sent in my SIR a couple days ago. English Major ;] I am psyched!

Pop808, are you an OSS? International? Washington resident? Did you apply for the Honors program?
