Personally, I suffer from the "grass is always greener on the other side" syndrome...so I'm constantly imagining what it would be like at various universities even when I'm already at an amazing university. As I was driving home this evening I was picturing myself at various colleges. Harvard? I could see myself there, but it's probably not a dream school. MIT? Definitely not. Columbia? It would rank pretty high on my list...

Where would you go if you were given the opportunity to go anywhere and why?

My dream school ?? Hmmmmm, I really want to go to UPenn cuz it has brilliant bschool. I don't know if I am admitted cuz I suck at SAT. :( But I'll try my best though.

I'm fairly confident I'm in the best of all possible worlds here at Michigan. In-state tuition, close to home (some people might hate that, but it works out very well for me), traditional powerhouse in college football and more importantly college hockey, highly regarded in both math as a whole and specifically combinatorics, one of the top honors introductory math sequences in the country, great city, large school, I get to keep some friends from high school (and I can pretend I don't know the ones I didn't like) while adding on a diverse new array of friends, the list goes on...

Since it's usually suggested you go somewhere else for graduate school, I have to try and find a replacement for Michigan this year. I know Minnesota is probably the best personal fit, but it might be hard to turn down schools that are considered at the top of my field (if I get in).

no particular order, just places i wish i wouldve applied to/gotten into. im a grass is always greener person to. i love BC yet i can think what if...

duke- basketball, warm weather without being too "southern", my kind of social scene
penn- best business school, beautiful campus in heart of philly
princeton- love love love the campus, proximity to home, always a what if tehre because my mom got in there way back in the day but grandparents wouldnt let her go
yale- i really like the residential college thing
michigan- couldve really liked the huge state school thing, kind of set up on a big pedistal in my hometown for some reason.

i could really go on but then it would go less into the dream schools and schools i jsut think it would be really cool to go to for a while

Georgetown! It has been for the longest time.

I was deffered early action and, kinda took it personally and started hating on the school for a while. It became my dream school again when they accepted me regular decesion :-)

D is at Harvard, and I've loved being a vicarious wannabe through her experience - that's a pretty good dream. But for me, smaller and more intimate would be even better. I'd vote for Williams.

Hmm, I'd like to give Columbia a try, but I wouldn't want to go there for four years. Maybe a month or so and I'd have my fill.

Honestly, the only school I would consider leaving Bryn Mawr for would be Swarthmore, which is nuts because I'm probably going to be majoring there anyway. :D Or having one of my majors there...

If I were better with Physics I'd say MIT- the people there are so fun.

University of Michigan-Admitted, could not attend due to OOS tuiton :(

University of Virginia-Admitted, could not attend for same reason as UM :( :(

Boston College-This was originally one of my tops, and I was admitted, but it was just a tad too small...and a whale too expensive-when I visited :( :( :(

UNC-waitlisted, removed name.

And NOW I'm at....UCLA! Haha never thought I'd end up so close to home, but their perks were pretty awesome :). I was never one of those who dreamed of going to HYPS...didn't even apply. I wanted a great school with an athletic, social atmosphere, and those schools provided the best fit for me. Dang tuition! Good luck to all those still trying to get in to your dream school though. And Go Bruins!
