It’s bittersweet. Good for financial aid. Bad for living comfortably lol.

mine’s 00000

7800-ish. Works for me.

Darnit, no pell.

4452…the highest EFC I’ve ever gotten, now I’m gonna attempt to make half as much as I did last year, and tell my mom not to work as much lol…because it makes no sense, rather stay home and focus on my grades to be able to get scholarships, then bust my butt working long night shifts and get less aid. Supposedly the Pell Grant cutoff is 4617, so I might be good.

Mine is 00000.

I’m not going to share my exact EFC, but it’s significantly >50k, so… I doubt I’ll be getting much (if any) financial aid.

mine is 2413… i may be completely paranoid but i think my low EFC is hurting me in my admission at my state uni… they’re in a gigantic freakin budget crisis…

Mine’s around 3000, it was 0000 but then when we did our actual taxes, it went up.

Yay for an affordable state flagship (in case I do not get into any of my top schools that meet full need w/o loans)!

<<"00010.

does having a low efc affect living comfortably?? other than having a low efc meaning you might not be living frivolously at home

roughly 24k.

always fun.

0.00.

It’s going to be another year of ramen!

$16K. I’ve been stressing night and day about how we’re going to come up with that.

cman: A low EFC means that income is low – bad for living comfortably.

I’m new to this, and it strikes me as crazy. The college funding system punishes you if you work hard and make some money, it punishes you if you planned and saved, it punishes you if you get scholarships, it punishes you if other family members want to help. There’s no way around EFC, as far as I can tell.

mine is unfortunately 0…
my mom works two part time jobs and my dad is unemployed.
sigh**

Mine is a big 0.

A bit depressing, actually. Like, not even 5$?
I agree with cman8123 about the low EFC hurting my admission chances - hopefully we’re both paranoid… And yes, it absolutely effects “living comfortably”…

17517.

Wow, and I thought I had a low EFC compared to my friends. D:

evaa:

i know what you mean; i live in a very very very very affluent community and nobody else in my class has basically even bothered filling out a FAFSA… haha i’ve kinda kept my efc on the DL
