The Giver.

all quiet on the western front... harry potters... catcher in the rye

least fav = scarlet letter

well it's not obvious if you haven't read the books :):)

i liked scarlet letter!

geez i like so many: to kill a mockingbird, jane eyre, all my sons, streetcar named desire, catcher in the rye, lovely bones, angels and demons, the awakening, grapes of wrath, great gatsby, charlotte's web, the giver, a separate peace, harry potter

the last shot, by darcy frey

1984 .

Going after Cacciato, Grapes of Wrath

Any thing by Dan Brown (though Da Vinci Code, his most popular is my least favorite). I really liked Angels and Demons.

Of Mice and Men. Simple and sensational.

candide, lord of the rings, harry potter, tale of two cities, steppenwolf, and probably some stuff i haven't read yet. it's sad, i haven't read a book just for enjoyment since the last harry potter came out. i have so much reading with school, i don't get a chance to read for myself. i have a list of maybe 20 or so books i want to read.

Atlas Shrugged (without a doubt)

Some others worthy of mentioning:
Anthem, Cat's Cradle, Choke, Fight Club, Rats Saw God, Stranger in the Mirror, Kissing Tennessee, most everything by M.E. Kerr

Just curious, anyone ever heard of M.E. Kerr or read/liked her stuff?

Sometimes it frightens me when people mention that Ayn Rand novels are their favorites. Not that they are bad, or as radical as Mein Kampf, but still...

The Giver and Jacob Have I Loved- kids books I still love
Little Women, Tale of 2 cities, Mists of Avalon
A Long Fatal Love Chase by Louisa May Alcott- One of her earlier works about a woman who tries to run from her stalker husband. The novel was considered too sensational to be published in her time. I found this book hilarious... parts of it reminded me so much of a supermarket novel

A Brief History of Time - Stephen Hawkings.. it kinda open my mind entirely!

apart from that, I like almost everything by Jeffery Archer..specially Third Estate..

LOTR wasn't bad either.. i read it more than 5 times... obsession huh..

The Brothers Karamazov.

I got a brief high off of Atlas Shrugged, and I still think she makes some great points, but also that she was missing something essential (to me). I'm halfway through the Fountainhead, after leaving it for a while. Basically, I went through the same sense of rapture/dissilusion the character in Old School (Tobias Wolff... nothing to do with the movie) goes through with her philosophy.

Yeah, i read my friends copy of The Giver, it was good. My fav would have to be Clive Barker's Imajica, King's IT or LOTR. I cant understand why you'd like Jane Eyre. The writings not bad, but its just so boring...

Harry Potter
White Fang

GASP!! harry potter is not cheap nor embarrassing! it is the best book ever in the history of the entire world

filmxoxo17

i love poisonwood bible!
i read it over the summer on a 10-hour plane ride and started crying and this guy sitting next to me thought i was a freak...
