Thanks.

Thus far, it is…

Course Name: Chemistry 152
Professor: Daniel Chiu
Reason: Respectable Professor

Your welcome.

Course Name: CSE 143 (Computer Programming II)
Professor: Stuart Reges
Reason: Reges is an awesome professor. If you take this class under him, make sure to sign up for the honors section (it’ll show up as CSE 143H on a transcript, I think). You don’t actually do any extra work for the class; instead, it’s like a book club where you meet once a week and you read and discuss a book for the quarter. The book usually has some relevance to computing/technology (or is just plain interesting). You also discuss other interesting topics in math and CS. It’s really enjoyable, mainly because Reges is really charismatic and makes things interesting. He alternates between teaching CSE 142 and 143, and I’m pretty sure he does this honors section no matter which one he teaches. So yeah, if you’re interested in CS and have the opportunity to take a class under him, do it. And join the honors section.

Stat/Math 390 (Statistics for Engineers/Scientists) under Caren Marzban is also pretty interesting if you’re considering an engineering major and need to fulfill the stat requirement. It’s hard, but Marzban is a good professor. If you don’t care for statistics, though, then take Ind E 315 to get the requirement out of the way. Supposedly it’s much easier, although there are some negative reports about the unknown-to-me prof’s competency.

Same as pumpkins, he’s somewhat funny (for a chem professor) although sometimes when he explains problems he rushes through them, I had to go back to them and go through them again to understand it
