Hi! I’m currently a sophomore here at U of M and am wondering what people think separates Ann Arbor from other schools across the country. What makes the University of Michigan so special?
The more replies, the better! I hope to get a lot of opinions!
For example, my favorite part is that there is a city-side and a country-side to campus. You can walk to S. State Street or Main Street to witness a city-life atmosphere, and you can go on the diag to be in a greener, cleaner environment!
Looking forward to reading and responding to everyone’s responses!!!
Nice thread I’ll play. But with more posts later. I think the most under appreciated area of campus is the Arb. https://mbgna.umich.edu/nichols-arboretum/
It is simply amazing that you can walk a few hundred feet away from campus and your in a different type of land and adventure. It’s such a great getaway from the intense things that can happen on campus. Beautiful river. Areas to hike. Plenty of land to throw a football /freebie or just go to study or chill.
@Knowsstuff , I have never been to the Arb! I am definitely going to check it out in the future. Thanks!!
I really enjoy how the campus integrates directly into Ann Arbor. I can walk right from class into town without ever feeling like I’m leaving.
My favorite part of U of M is that I am able to strong close connections with classmates that share the same major as me.
