What is your favorite safety college?

And just to clarify so no one remains confused, there is no UNDERGRADUATE business program. There are multiple graduate business programs at the HBS, which are among some of the best in the country.

A lot of colleges with "rolling" admission are about to begin accepting applications. Some will notify you very soon if you are admitted. Have you chosen your safety college?

Good luck to the class of 2008 applicants.

lol i had no idea...well....safety colleges here we come!!!

haha. jk.

Doesn't UPenn Wharton have an undergraduate business program?...

wharton IS an undergraduate business program.
my safety: UT-Austin

My safety - University of New Mexico...or suicide...

I'll prolly go for the latter if I have to settle for the former.

Please don't even joke about killing yourself if you don't get into Harvard. That's worrisome to read on this forum. There are lots of good reasons to go on living and enjoying life no matter what colleges admit you.

True. It's sad because some kids have actually killed themselves because they didn't get into Harvard. I know many prospective students (as I am one of them) feel that way too sometimes...but it's important to break out of the "All or nothing" mentality I suppose.

Turning back to a happier subject, many colleges are now accepting applications and acting on them rapidly. You could have an offer of admission in hand soon if you submit an application soon to a "rolling admission" college. Have all of you who are interested in Harvard chosen your safety college, and have you applied to it already?

As soon as you get an acceptance letter from there, any school becomes a safety.

That's an apt observation. Only having to say yes by the national reply date in May makes a college pretty safe.

Do you all have your safety applications turned in already? A student who is competitive for getting into Harvard can probably find a good, true safety college on my list of noteworthy colleges. Be sure to get your safety application in, so you can enjoy finishing your Harvard application.

One more bump before the EA deadline at many colleges. (I assume you won't apply ED anywhere if you think you have a chance to get into Harvard; that would be silly.) Line up that safety, and then breathe easier before the Harvard application deadline comes.

eek...time is moving so quickly!

There has been a huge surge of chances threads on this forum in the last two weeks, and that reminds us that everyone needs to maximize chances by applying to a safety college, first and foremost. Then applying to Harvard is less nerve-racking, if you know for sure you will get in somewhere good for you.

Southern Adventist University and Andrews University are my safety universities.......it's pretty easy to figure out which safety college you should pick if you've been in the Adventist school system for 12 years lol

whoever mentioned that uchicago ought to be people's safety school is being ridiculous. saying that uchicago is your safety is idiotic... a lot of kids who get into harvard don't get into uchicago - the two schools are polar opposites in most ways.

Rutgers! Whoo!

Haha McGill! (in Canada)

If Pomona only has the same acceptance rate as Dartmouth because more stupid people apply to LACS, why is the SAT average identical?
