What is your first name?

I'm Jai.....

Jennifer Ryan. I get a girl name and a boy name.

I hate my name because it's always being mispronounced.
My whole name means "ginger sail" in Chinese.
I'm thinking about going by Fawn in college (means...baby deer obviously) because that's how my name is pronounced anyway, so I would still turn around and answer when people called me, but would never have to worry about people saying it wrong.

I want to name my son Sebastian after Ryan Phillippe's character in Cruel Intentions. :p

Sebastian's a cool name, especially for that reason.

If I had a son I'd name him Phineas, from A Separate Peace. I've always loved that name.

Yea but he'd definitely be called Phinny/Finny

and the bad part is I kind of like the nickname Finny.

Siddhartha, which was also my dad's middle name.

Sucharita

chokes and dies

My parents are cruel cruel people :(.

I dunno what I'll name my kids but I'll make sure their names aren't more than 2 syllables long

My official and legal Chinese name translates into Thinking Intelligence. Well, something like that. Heh. I'm Jalyn. J because my mum wanted something that began with that, and lyn because my sister liked -lyn.

What's wrong with Sucharita?? I think it's cute (and pronounceable)

It means 'of good character' :(

Of all the nice Indian names with beautiful meanings, I just had to get saddled with one that was boring and insipid!

My legal name = Sherry
It was Cherry originally (after cherry blossoms, which were in full bloom when I was born..Japan) Then my parents changed it legally to Sherry because Cherry was "too fruity and not name-ish"

My Chinese name = Yu (pronounce like "you") and means "the glow of jade"

I think the name Sherry comes from the French "cherie" meaning dearest?

If I had a daughter, I'd name her Anneley-Jules. (pronounce: an-nuh-lei jewels) I made that name up when I was a freshman and have it in my head ever since!

"glow of jade" that sounds nice, though I thought yu just meant simply "jade"

So..are you chinese or japanese? I'm confused.

Sherry is a nice name, but to me, it means after dinner drink...

Every time I see Sucharita, I think of Sucrose... Don't ask me why... it just happens. Its a nice name tho...

:)

Sucrose LOL that's a new one.

Mandy here!

Sucharita, are you a guy or a girl? And you got into Princeton right? I'd kill to be you right now :(
And do you pronounce it, Sooch - a - ree - ta ?
I think it's a hot name

I'm a girl and you're pronunciation is perfect :)

Well jade is also "yu" but that's another kanji/chinese character. The one my name uses is different.

lol, I think of the drink too

I'm chinese...all my life I've been in Japan.
...

Sucharita, I love your name. It's hot. sounds like senorita;lol... I actually didn't know it was your real name - I always thought it was some combination of senorita and a nickname.

My name's Pia. It's not all that pretty, but it does have some redeeming qualities - short, rarely pronounced incorrectly and there is no need for a nickname.
