I would say middle class kids are usually the ones getting screwed. I've seen some really poor kids from this forum getting accepted to every college they apply to(HYP too)

We have no idea who the student was who was on DS's transcript. According to DS, this picture was NOT a flattering one for that student at all...and it certainly was not DS!! I personally do not think that the pictures should be on the transcripts at all.

They encourage EVERYONE to apply for financial aid; regardless of your income so I don't think it would be a factor.

Unanimously voted team president of my Forensics (speech/debate) team-- one of the best and laregest in the state of NJ...

Recruited as an ambassador for jetBlue Airways in New York

Recruited as a travel consultant for Reliant Pharamaceuticals

...are any of those hooks?

Asparagus..... fermented

A hook is whatever the college is looking for at that particular time. If they are looking for a tuba player and you play the violin then the tuba player has the hook.

What both of you are involved in sounds wonderful. Whether or not it is a hook really doesn't matter. I believe the schools try to fill voids but also look at a students passion. Stick with your passions.....
