Really, “profoundly annoying?”

You sound a little too touchy to me.

Really, “profoundly annoying?”

You sound a little too touchy to me.

^ This of course, coming from someone who thinks he’s too cool for school to have a FB. Comes as no surprise. ;)

I was thinking about “deactivating” my Facebook yesterday when I happened to come across this thread. I actually decided to go ahead and do it despite the risk of sounding awkward when someone asks me if I have a Facebook. I just realized that I don’t care what most of the people on my friends list had to say. It’s not like they said anything important anyway, it was stuff like “I’m tired of this…seriously” or some romantic quote that they felt was necessary to let others know they like.

Facebook didn’t help me connect with anyone. I have a phone that can text and a contact list. That’s all the connecting I need.

For the record I’m also still in high school so it may all change in college but Facebook is pretty much useless to me now.

I’m this close to closing my Facebook account. I’m nearing graduation from college and I’ve been very cautious of what goes on my Facebook but I’d rather not even have it for potential employers to see. That said, the Air Force has me for the next 4+ years (I’m in ROTC) and I really don’t need to have a Facebook if I go overseas and get captured and interrogated based on personal information on my page. Sure, it’s a bit far-fetched but I might as well plan for it.

My number one reason for dumping it though? No more application requests.

Also, how ridiculous is it that people can now add me to a group I care nothing about? Do you think being added to a group for homosexual members of Facebook, regardless of my personal opinions, would fly well with the Air Force’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy? Nope. It’s a terrible, terrible decision by Facebook to change how groups are handled.

I have met a handful of people who don’t have facebook or who deactivate it during school year. They are all super busy people with an awesome life. It makes them look more mysterious.
I don’t know but I like someone without a fb account.

PS: I personally have one though

If I was a celebrity I would probably use these social network sites, since you have to keep strangers fulfilled to stay successful. I like reading many celebrity twitters.

Otherwise I don’t like typing a conversation in front of tons of people; it doesn’t stimulate me like talking does. I don’t want a facebook. Calling, hanging out in person, emailing pics, and texting quick questions works fine for me.
