^ But we’re awesome. We have the best list of people ever.

Can we all agree that E > I?

No. I am a better human than every one else, and I am INTJ, therefore I > E. :P

I think, generally speaking, I’s do better than E’s, but I’m not aware of any famous E’s so I’m not exactly qualified to say.

I’m an INTP, and though I won’t go so far to say that they’re better than INTJ’s, I don’t understand why INTJ’s are so proud/cocky.

ENTJ. According to a professor that’s a family friend, your top THREE types should actualyl be used.

Most famous politicians, actors, philosophers and businessmen are E’s. That extroversion is needed in those field, seeing that they’re mostly creative types. But I’s historically have hoards of geniuses too, mostly in science, health, etc. But there’s no concrete line dividing careers down to E v. I. Usually the person in question is solely responsible for his fame, not his attitude to the external world.

^ “Creative” is not exactly the first word that comes to mind when thinking of businessmen and politicians. It’s more that they need to be outspoken. Also, while INTJs are known as scientists, other I’s are known as artists. They’re just less likely to want the spotlight (hence the disproportionate amount of INFP writers).

Yeah, it was the first word that came to mind, and in retrospect, it wasn’t the wisest. When I say creative, I mean intelligent enough to manipulate their surroundings for their/someone else’s own benefit (which is creative, but obviously not in the conventional sense). You pretty much hit the nail on the head.

EDIT: I also want to point out the differences between Introvert and Extrovert artists/creatives that you were getting at with these following examples:

I- C.S Lewis, Ayn Rand, Orwell, Lennon, van Gogh, Thom Yorke.

E- Mark Twain, Oscar Wilde, Colbert, Disney, Freud, George Bernard Shaw.

an introvert can train himself to properly deal with other people. though he’ll never be truly comfortable in large crowds, he can callous himself sufficiently well to the setting and work as efficiently in groups as his extrovert counterpart. in this case, training can effectively replace innate tendency.

on the other hand, the benefit introverts gain from being naturally reflective cannot be replicated through training. since it’s a self-satisfying ability, training yourself to be reflective is not nearly as beneficial as being naturally reflective.

just sayin’

Took the test again. ENTJ, but the E is only 1%/ I got an INTJ on my first examination a couple years ago with the “I” also being very low.

I’m an ENFP

Ivygolfer: how did you take it again on naviance? It wouldn’t let me take it twice.

I am ENTJ, exactly right on with my relationship type… kind of scary right.

I took the test again and I’m actually an ESFJ which is caregiver/people-person. It’s crazy to see so many INTJs here! My dad is an INTJ and our personalities clash ALL the time!

helloel
I used one of the links in this thread to take it a second time, I did not take it on Naviance

ENTJ, but very very close to INTJ

@theyeaman What a crock.

E and I say nothing about how introspective or reflective one is, but rather how one prefers to express reflection (e.g., sitting in the corner nursing a drink and feeling emo, or standing in the center of a room and sharing observations with friends, who can verify or dispute one’s claims and perhaps contribute to the process of thought).

Luckily the internet was invented, so all the strong Introverts can come online and avoid the rigor of face-to-face discourse. Sites like collegeconfidential are great supplementary platforms.

Jimbosteve: Introverts don’t just sit in corners, but probably some do. Many of those people in the center of the room are probably introverts. Introverts don’t just blab about everything to the world, they find importance in conversation. You can’t label extroverts as being more able to “contribute to thought”. Extroverts rely on the outside world rather than their internal thoughts more than introverts, thus Introverts are more self reflective, that is the main quality of being an Introvert. Introverts don’t have to be quiet, Introvert is just a word to describe how they share their thoughts and that while they do put themselves in situations with a bunch a people, they usually want some time alone to reflect.

For example, my mom tested introverted and I was shocked. She is usually the one starting and keeping conversation going in all types of situations. She branches out to tons of people, and really tries to get know them, whether it is a family friend or a cashier. But Introverted describes the way she thinks and shares her thoughts. While it seems she speaks everything on her mind, she doesn’t. She doesn’t talk about how she feels all the time, which is a major characteristic of being Introverted. Introverts want to get to know other people, but they won’t brag about themselves or spill their feelings unless asked by somebody they trust or who is very persistent.

I could give you a long list of Introverts that have contributed to the world, but I’ll just give you a short list of those that have the personality type so common on CC.

INTJ: Mark Zuckerberg, Susan B. Anthony, Thomas Jefferson, Isaac Newton, Erik Satie, oh and Chevy Chase is an INTJ just something interesting a lot of comedians are actually Introverts

So my point of that list is that you can’t really rule out a certainly personality type as being socially, intellectually, or artistically lesser than any other.

introvert = interacting with people takes energy, is tiring
extrovert = interacting with people gives them energy, excites them

INFP every time since sixth grade, and in the extremes of every category. We INFPs are pretty rare (2-4 percent), so I’m surprised that i saw at least two or three others on here. I agree that having a big heart if a PITA, but i rather like my type. Have any of you come across the site that lists who the idea friend, lover, teacher, mentor, pal, roommate, spouse, etc. would be for each personality type?
