I was just curious about what other people’s plans are if Bowdoin does not work out. My next choice is a tie between Wesleyan and Colby.

I’m between Middlebury and Bates.

Ooh, yes. In fact, my plans have changed a bit. As of now, I am debating between Middlebury and Wesleyan. My only hang up about Middlebury is that I think it may be even harder to get in than Bowdoin.

bs_hopeful I’m sure it’s some kind of harder for international students as recently them seem to prefer UWC ones…

From what I can tell, Middlebury is MUCH harder to get into than Wesleyan, and honestly is as hard or harder to get into than Bowdoin. All are really good schools. You can’t go wrong with any of them.

GDMACK - doesn’t Midd have a higher acceptance rate than Bowdoin?

Its as much about luck as anything else- there are so many well qualified applicants to these top liberal arts schools (anything in the US News top 10 for LACs) that there are just not enough slots to go around. Some perfectly well qualified applicant will get waitlisted at Bowdoin and accepted at Middlebury and vice versa. Be sure you have some at least slightly less competitive LACs if you are applying to the top LACs!
