The summer program decisions are rolling in. Just like the Ivies these seem to be unpredictable. Started this thread to see ideas for Plan B for this summer.

Let me start :

1) Coursera online courses
2) volunteering at local hospital, nursing home

I applied for Rockefeller’s Research internship and didn’t get in, so now I’m waiting for JCAMP.

I’m much more of a humanities person than a science person, so hopefully I’ll get into this one. My essays for the application also felt a lot more “me” than the ones I wrote for Rockefeller.

I am also volunteering for an emergency medicine research team at my neighborhood hospital.

Nothing else :(

In our family the back up plan for all kids is:
- Volunteer work
- Working (you can grab jobs at amusement parks around here about any time!)

They will do some of #1 regardless of what else they do, but are hoping for acceptances into some solid free or low cost summer programs they applied to in order to avoid #2!
