What is YOUR SAT score?

& did you study?

2250 with study

2070 with a little study

2250-2300 with alot of study

2230 (710 M, 740 CR, 780 W) with an online prep course - my mother said I had to complete it or she wouldn’t let me take the SAT, though when she wasn’t looking I just went on Facebook and played Tetris - and flipping through parts of an SAT book.

2340 (780s) with no studying. I’m a strong believer in the SAT still being an aptitude test, so I don’t think it’s fair for anyone to study.

1860… Didn’t study as much as I should have, which is evident in my score.

2290 and yeah I studied.

2360 with a freaky amount of study.

But then, you got a 2340.

2220 no study.

@sylvan8798 Exactly. I think the 2340 is an accurate representation of my abilities. Maybe I could have scored higher if I studied, but I know that I am not innately smart enough to get a 2400. I think studying throws off the relative scoring that the SAT is supposed to provide.

Yesterday my friend was just bashing and criticizing the entire SAT for how trivial it is. Mostly because it doesn’t really measure anything except how well you take a test. He got a 2290 with no study whatsoever.

2090 studied. basically went through some practice tests. I practiced individual sections at a time though, I never did a full test at once.

Apparently my SAT scores show a negative correlation between studying and section score:

Math: 800, no studying
Writing: 660, a little review of grammar
Reading: 610, several practice sections
2070 total

Obviously this doesn’t mean that studying yields a negative score (since I’m good at math but average at reading/writing) but I was wondering if anyone else had the same thing.

2100 studied a lot, I started with quite a low score

2400 with studying this old Barron’s, Dr. Chung, and collegeboard blue book tests.

2090 (750m 630 cr 710w) no studying, and then 2070 (690m 690cr 690w) after an online SAT prep course…

1900 with little studying

@cferro00 your math score went way down after the prep course. Was the course worth it?
