Transfer student very curious! The more details the better! Ay club recommendations? Thanks!

Also interested, especially clubs. :)

Hey smartguy, I was in a writing class today and asked a friend what her day is like. On Wednesdays she has a morning class, then drives to work in Goleta (she works in a dental office), then drives back to campus for writing, and then goes back to work until nightfall. She has hardly any breaks in between, so it’s a long day. She also does some type of research in the humanities for a scholarship. I don’t know which one though.

I also know someone else who works at a doctor’s office 30 hours a week, and is a full time student, pre-med.

My boyfriend studies Philosophy. There are some really “crunchy” classes. He had one last quarter that always made him come out feeling like he didn’t even really exist. On the side of school, he also runs an at home business from his laptop.

In terms of clubs, there are just so many, I can’t really recommend one in particular. That would depend on your interests. One that I want to join is the UCSB DJ club, because I love EDM, but of course, that wouldn’t suit everyone. Here’s a directory where you can search through all the clubs at our school: [UCSB Office of Student Life](http://osl.sa.ucsb.edu/OrgList)

EDIT: Adventure Club. There’s some type of fee which may discourage some, but it allows you to go on hikes, kayaking, etc. It’s very popular.
