What it is truly like being at Pepperdine University?

I applied to Pepperdine University in California, I just wanted to know from someone who goes there or has been there before what it is like? I know it is a christian school, which i like, but is it too christian? Is there absolutely no partying? Also is it very catty like high school? I know some people on college prowler say that. Thanks!

go to the Pepperdine forum, OP. Look under “Colleges and Universities.”

I drove around the campus during a recent trip to LA-- WOW! By far the most spectacular setting of any school!

better than UCSB, Rocky?

Read the student handbook so you will understand some of the school culture and requirements. I think you can search for it online.

Malibu is a pristine sweep of gorgeous coastline but no college culture except campus, not much there there. Isla Vista is more a big jumbled student community on the beach, much more student oriented, and Santa Barbara is stunning too.

I just enrolled for the spring 2015 semester at Pepperdine… It is a Christian school however not everyone is christian or even religious for that matter… Religion is there if you are interested but if you are not its not like there are a ton of bible bangers… But do keep in mind if religion is not your thing you are required to go to 14 convocations a semester (yes it does effect your gpa)

The campus is a dry campus but you can find partying off campus if you are interested. Not as much as ucsb but you can find parties.

It is nothing like highschool… Pepperdine actually works on integrating all the students… For example if your a transfer there is a separate orientation so you can meet people and they almost use it as an ice breaker… Also they require their students to live on campus which forces you to interact with your peers.

let me know if you have any other questions :)

@pinkpop Thanks so much! I just applied for the fall of 2015 and it seems amazing!
