You might want to wait to make your list until the new US News rankings come out with the most recent data. The grad school rankings are out now, so the colleges are probably coming out soon.

"Brown is pretty easy."

You're right...60% of vals are rejected, 16% acceptance rate overall, SAT average in the mid 1400s...it's practically a TTT in selectivity.

ucla isnt easy....its so random lol

Brown's acceptance rate was 13.8% this year (total).

michigan... but it doesnt take anything away from the school... it is top notch, especially for grad programs.

Seth Cohen didnt get in.

^LOL! (10 characters)

What about JHU?

ummm... I think Rice is like 40-45% for out of state students... someone correct me if I'm wrong (saw this posted in Rice forum)... so I think that's a real keeper of a school

Rice is 40-45% for OOS? I always thought that Rice was one of the more selective non-Ivies...

Duke's accept rate is 19% this year.

Northwestern is excellent and has a 28% acceptance

Yah but on that same show, Marrissa, who's an alchoholic, does cocaine, shot someone, got kicked out of school, got into Berkeley.

cornell ed, 44%. --The Best 361 Colleges, PR.

people might say Uchicago is "least selective" because they accept people with lower stats. I've heard chicago doesn't concentrate that much on stats vs., say the essays/recs. People on CC have been accepted with 3.3's, etc.

How competitive is Cornell's engineering?

Duke makes pilaf out of Rice.

WUSTL....its pretty esay jsut apply ED/EA

here's just a random tip: if you want to get into a top ivy with a "slightly" lower profile, try applying for a "least selective" program (eg cold war history, or "life in victorian england"). They tend to admit people with lower stats in these programs since there's always a LACK OF STUDENTS interested in these areas, and the university wants to fill up all the seats. (eg cornell hotel management: :):))

It is, the acceptance rate is just higher for OOS.

I laugh at the one that says Brown is pretty easy, unless they were joking.

And Cornell's acceptance rate has dropped to around 20%, but that's still a comparatively higher rate than a lot of the top 25.

Pretty easy? ED/EA probably helps a lot but overall that's still a really selective school and from what I've heard their paranoid about being one of the 'easy' top schools to get into.
