<p>Nonetheless, with great ECs and if she boosts her SAT 2300+ (ideally 2350+), these schools are incredibly likely to accept her based on her race. I know, I know, race isn’t everything, but in doing research for a debate case on affirmative action, I found a source showing that elite schools accept around 80% of URMs >2350 (couldn’t find it with a quick Google search, but I can look harder if anyone’s interested). I’d be willing to bet that top LACs, who traditionally hurt for diversity, and less competitive top schools are almost guaranteed to accept a more than qualified URM. The fact of the matter is that the OP has excellent chances at top schools regardless of her race, but that her race can be the tip factor she needs to cinch admission.</p>
<p>Still, it would be foolish not to apply to a true safety or to a school EA for at least one guaranteed admission, if only for the peace of mind.</p>
