What jobs are there for lazy people?

I go to a top 10 school and have a 3.9 GPA. Upon graduation I would like to find an job that is fulfilling and pays reasonably well. However, I am also very lazy and mentally ill, so I'd like a low-stress job that doesn't require me to pull all-nighters, worry a lot, or work past 5 pm.

For reference, I am majoring in math.

Teacher. If you get the good students anyway.

amtrak employee

And by “fulfilling,” I mean “involves math.”

Tutor? I could easily charge $25/hr for tutoring AP Chem.

I do like tutoring. If only I could do that full time.

I do feel kind of incompetent at it though, I tutor this kid on the SAT and even though I got a 2390 on the test I think he could learn a lot more reading a prep book than asking me for help. They have better test-taking tips and even explain how to do the problems.

Half the job is being a babysitter for lazy kids. You may not understand having gotten a 2390 but a lot of people can’t learn math type subjects on their own very well.

How about congressman ???

^ lol

^^ yeah I’m starting to think tutoring is almost never a good idea except when the kids are too lazy to study on their own, then the hours spent in tutoring are good for forcing them to study. Hell, I spend half the tutoring time doing my homework and waiting for him to finish practice tests. I should ask him to take the practice tests before coming to tutoring but he probably would never agree to that.

actuary might be a fit for you. The hours and pay are pretty good and the potential negatives of lots of boring math and difficult tests aren’t so bad if you enjoy math and tests.

You know what, people have been telling me to do that. I think I’ll look into it if I still want to be lazy by tomorrow.
