Does this new ACT put me over the top anywhere? Does it open up anymore doors? I don't think I have Ivy League make-up, which is handy because I don't have the desire to go to any of them, but I would love to spend four years at a top southern school. Chances very much appreciated.

UVA requires SAT IIs.

I’d say strong match for W&L. I’d be surprised if you were not admitted.

Your ACT is phenomenal! Definitely submit that! Your chances are very good at each of the schools, but OOS schools are always going to be a challenge (at least you have an excellent chance at them!).

Have you considered Duke or UNC?

Maybe I’ll see you at W&M next year!

If all’s well, then that would be the plan.

But this is an edit of an old post, and I have since then scratched UVA from the list. Copy/Paste mistake, go ahead and ignore it. My fault, thanks though.

And as for UNC, I’m really cautioning against super huge OSS publics (W&M seems to have a private feel to it, and I absolutely love Williamsburg), because if I go to a large public I have prepaid tuition at U of I (thanks mom and dad).

As for Duke, I can’t say I’ve considered it, I’m really into this Southern Ivy League idea, and tossed around the idea of Vandy also, but it never really materialized into anything.

Since I am incapable of coming up with all my talking points at one time, this will be my last post explaining my situation:

i also ruled UVA out on the large OSS public, not seeing it worth it to drop 30k extra a year when I can pay for just room and board at U of I, which will be covered by personal savings (thanks mom and dad). Otherwise I would graduate with debt, which totally isn’t the plan, but would be worth it for W&M or W&L depending on how much debt I incur.

Is this how this whole bump thing works?
