What kind of Aid does UF offer during the summer?

I know bright futures doesn't cover the summer sessions; does UF has special financial aid for summer? I'm just wondering because my summer package hasn't been fully processed.

Probably just loans this summer. Things are not all flowers in financial aid offices now, most everything is on hold right now. Congress, state, likely tuition increase: could be triple double ***-time coming up soon for any kind of financial aid awards, including this summer and fall.

[Proposed cut in summer Pell Grants has UF students nervous | Gainesville.com](http://www.gainesville.com/article/20110315/ARTICLES/110319592/-1/entertainment?Title=Proposed-cut-in-summer-Pell-Grants-has-UF-students-nervous)

I would almost imagine that with UF’s endowment they would give better financial aid for the average middle class… I have full bright futures, but it seems that, with the tuition raises, bright futures may not cover close to as much as it used to percentage wise.

It doesn’t. If you have 75% Bright Futures (Florida Medallion Scholars) it covers like, $94 per credit hour and UF costs $168 and some change per credit hour. So Bright Futures will give you $1128, even though the tuition cost is like $2024 and you have to cover something like $896 (unless if you have financial aid, then they take care of that for you with your Pell Grant or whatever). It is still a big help though, no matter what.

Pell Grants are federal and are for low income students. It’s a wonderful program but it doesn’t help people from middle class families.

Summer aid will be loans. I’ve heard of someone getting something other than loans for summer. Grants and scholarship type stuff is usually reserved for Fall/Spring.
