What kind of chores do you have?

I'm kind of interested because I see so many kids that get national/international awards etc posting on CC. I was wondering if those kids do chores around the house =O

^ I basically run my house. My parents are always away so I do the cooking, cleaning, shopping, take care of the dogs, etc.

But I don't win national/international awards. I never have enough time or patience to do contests lmao.

Ha. Nothing at my house is "required" by my mom, but I pretty much do a lot of it. Clean the house, cook my food, take care of the cats. My mom takes care of the yard work and I do a lot of the house work. Not to the extent romanigysyeyes does, but a lot of it is put to me. Then again it being just mom and me makes it easier sometimes. Although I haven't won international/national awards.

no major awards here, either. I live with some buddies so i do all my stuff on my own. cook, clean, shop, laundry, pay bills, etc.

I live with some buddies so i do all my stuff on my own. cook, clean, shop, laundry, pay bills, etc.

Wow. I doubt I could do that.

I do pretty much everything since it's just me and my mom now and my mom is sick alot. I clean, cook, take care of the animals (all 9 of them), sweep, dishes, laundry, etc. Thankfully, none of those things take too long to do individually.

It sounds like there's a fair amount of us on CC who come from dificult, or at the very least, interesting situations.

^ It seems to be pretty divided. It seems to be that either you come from a very privileged and carefree background and are on here to see what colleges you can get in to or you come from a hard background and are trying to claw your way out. It doesn't seem like there are THAT many in-betweeners, but maybe I am just oblivious.

I've noticed the same. I think I'm one of the closest to being an in-betweener, although I'm one of the ones on the bottom half.

i get forced to clean my room ><

I'm one of the few in my AP classes that does struggle financially (half of the kids were whining when they didn't get their own car exactly on their sixteenth birthday, while I won't get one until I am able to save up enough money myself). Most people in my classes come from very privileged backgrounds. (The valedictorian loves shoving this fact in my face, which little does he know, pushes me to try harder to beat him.)

I feel lucky now that I come from a lower economic area. :)

My city has some pretty impressive people when it comes to money, but my school is the "ghetto" school of the city, so there's not much there economically.

My school is half in the "ghetto" and about ten percent of them are in the really wealthy areas (the val's family has five cars and lives in the same housing area as all the other wealthy families in my AP classes.) It feels like it's more than ten percent though to me because almost all of those people are in the AP/honors classes I take.

I wash and unload the dishes from the dishwasher, dust, do laundry, occasionaly cook, pick up my mom from the bus stop, drive my brother places, and try to keep my room clean. Lols, my chore list is kinda lame compared to everyone elses...

I wash the dishes, mow the lawn, and vacuum the house. I do my fair share of the chores.

I do the dishes, cook about half the time or so, drive my brother places, vacuum, take care of the 2 dogs [walking feeding and whatnot], and I do lots of the shopping ;] But I don't mind that last one.

I don't have the humility to do chores unless it's causing a public nuisance. =/

it sounds cool that i don't live with relatives, but i probably do way less chores than you guys. the whole house is a disaster. i do all the dishes once every few days, laundry once every week or so, and i think i've vacuumed once since i've lived there. i DO cook almost every meal for everyone and do most of the shopping, as well as bills and occasionally watching my best friend's baby.

Why do you live by yourself? What happened to all your parents?

^i live with some friends. my parents are fine, i just prefer to live with friends. Also, my parents live in the middle of nowhere (45-minute drive each way to school), so i live in a small house with 4 other people. it's right next to school and work. i moved out when i turned 18 last november.
