What kind of college could I get into?

Hey, I'm a junior and I just got my ACT scores back and I got a 32 (35 in English, 29 in Math, 36 in Reading, 29 in Science and 31 in writing). My GPA is 3.8 unweighted, 4.8 weighted. One thing is I won't be valedictorian or very close to the top of my class because they don't count weighted grades in class rank at my school. I've taken all the challenging classes, so I was just wondering what kind of college i can get into. I'm hoping to major in education and study literature, acting (especially film), and psychology. So if you know what kind of college would fit me well or any I could get into, I would appreciate it :)

You need to tell us what kind of school you want. There are dozens of great schools that offer education, film, lit and psych for someone with your stats. Tell us about the size of the school you want (LAC? Large public? mid-sized?), location (urban/rural/suburban, part of the country, hours drive from home, weather, etc…), what can you afford, any deal breakers? (sororities, religious, single sex, etc…)

Well I’m not really sure, I’m still trying to figure all this out. I was thinking about UW-Madison because it’s only an hour away from my house but now I’m thinking I could get into a better school. Anyway, here are my answers but I’m still trying to keep my list pretty long and visit a lot this summer.
size- mid-sized to large, but not really huge
location- urban, I live in the Midwest and I’d love to go to a really high quality school close to home but I’d still consider any in the U.S.
weather-I’m from Wisconsin so anywhere can’t really be as cold as here lol
price- I will probably qualify for financial aid at pretty much any school and I’m prepared to get student loans but the lower the price the better. $20,000 (total) is doable. Any more and I will have a lot of student loans.
no real dealbreakers, I don’t think.
hope this helps :)

we have very similar gpa’s! but you’re act is higher than mine. i’m applying to holy cross, lehigh, fordham, univ of rochester, drexel, quinnipiac, and some others. i’m not sure about their education programs, but i know you could get very strong undergraduate educations in literature or film in any of those schools and then do education for your masters! good luck to you! you’re way ahead of the game as a junior.

chance me? thanks!

yeah I’m trying to get all A’s from now on to match my scores better. Obviously math and science are my weak points so I’m working hard on them. I’m just starting to really think about all this a lot. I’m hoping to try acting after college and then use teaching as kind of a backup since the acting business doesn’t always work out. So I really just want a college that would prepare me for both careers.
I will try to chance you but just to warn you I’ve never done it before except kind of for myself for UW-Madison. But I will try :)

i think you should definitely apply to all the ones you mentioned, i wouldn’t be surprised if you got into most of them :).
quinnipac- definitely
fordham & drexel - good chance
rochester, holy cross, & lehigh- kind of a reach but still apply
i’ve heard that for reach schools they really look at your essays and teacher recommendations so if you think those will be good, you’re probably set :)
