What kind of college student you are or will be?

I am not a deliquent college student. Well, sort of, but some of my actions were unintentional.

I got a failed mark because I refused to sell Avon products for my Salesmanship class. I know that is exactly the point, but I don't like my professor...

I dropped a couple of classes because there were some other things that I have taken strict attention...

So far that is it for me...

I am trying to be good and mature on my grad class

I’m someone who leaves everything to last minute, does essays the night before/morning of and stuff, but does ok I guess. I get better marks that way.

I used to go out twice/3 times a week to bars and clubs when I had the money (this was 1st year though), 2nd year I went out at least once more often twice a week.

I had like 50% attendence haha

This year I want the same but more attendence, less leaving it to last minute too I guess.

A lazy one.

And a motivated one.

:D

I need to be someone who starts doing rather than just thinking or dreaming, and I have started to change like that. I need to just keep a better focus on school and academics.

I have turned into a good student in College(Emphasizing “good” not great).

In high school I was a slacker. I didn’t have any work ethic and I ended up graduation with slightly above a 3.0.

I was placed into a lower ranked University in which the students didn’t take the classwork very seriously. I hated it, ended up getting a 3.9 GPA my Freshman year and transferred into a higher ranked University.

I like the school much better. I want to go to graduate school as well and possibly pursue a PhD.

I have never enjoyed going out to clubs or bars. In fact, I don’t think I have ever even been to a nightclub besides this once dance I went to about five months ago. I am extremely introverted and not interested in the more extroverted activities(Albeit going to the bar rather than the club would probably be preferable to an introvert). Some of my friends go out to the bars but I do not enjoy this. There is also the fact that I do not drink alcohol, which inevitably would lead into awkward stares at a bar.

Now, reading and video games are a different kind of addiction. When I was younger I was addicted to reading books and then addicted to playing video games. I have kind of switched off between the two in College.

I don’t think grades are in any way a measure of personal intellect. If you know the material then you might do better on the exam grade. It obviously is subjective to people who have better test taking abilities but in my life I have found no correlation between high grades and high intelligence. Albeit someone could use the IQ scale as a counter argument but that would be a prime example of the classical “internet argument.”

College is really want you want to make of it. If you want to have a good time and party a lot then go ahead and do this. If you don’t have good time management skills, then your grades may suffer as a result. If you want to play video games all day or be a bum then you can also do this. Once again, your grades may suffer. It has a lot to do with what you want to do in the future as an individual.

Oh lawd, you’ve just described me to a T. I have an endless list of big goals and dreams but I have the worst time trying to execute.

High IQ, low GPA (3.49).

That is a wimpy low gpa, try a 2.37.

^You win.

I think Im a smart kid who puts in a minimal amount of effort to get by (which seems to be a really popular niche in this thread). I try to have as much fun as I can get away with

^ditto^

I forever will wait until the night before the test to study and show up exhausted. I will always tell myself “I’m going to start studying a few days ahead of time and by the time that exam is here, I’ll be fine.” I am magnificent at talking myself out of studying when I need to.

Am I the only one who DOESN’T like to procrastinate?

I am the weird college student. The one who doesn’t like to get wasted and party, the one who is usually in bed by midnight. I go to office hours, and I always sit in the front row and ask questions when confused. I prefer to go to cinema and baseball games, hanging out with the boyfriend, and making money at my pt job. I am extremely introverted, and I don’t like being around large groups of people.

A partygoer who doesn’t drink.
