What kind of experience do BS/MD programs expect you to have?

I'm a sophomore in high school, and I'm thinking of becoming a physician assistant, and I think it'd be nice to but back a little on school by going through one of those 5 yr programs. I know it's not quite the same thing as BS/MD, but I figured it have most of the same requirements.

Do those programs expect you to have experience volunteering in hospitals and things like that? That's what it seems like. It's really intimidating because I have no idea how to start that. I mean, what kinds of things do you have to have done to be accepted? I know you have to get really good grades and things like that, but...help?

To increase your chances do tons of medically related ECs including:

-Volunteering at a hospital
-Shadowing a doctor
-Becoming a certified EMT and riding for a squad
-Do medically related research and try to get published
-Any additional clubs at your school/community service

You can do all of these things if you really want to. It will increase your chances at any med program greatly. PM me if you need help.
