i no about the 1.0 AP and .5 Honors gpa grading scale. but do they look at ur UW gpa or W gpa?? b/c i have a 3.1 UW gpa, but when it's converted to the UF (and if i did this correctly) i have 4.2 W gpa?? is that rigth?

A = 4
B = 3
C = 2
If its an AP, add 1 point to it. If its honors class, add .5 to it.
An A in an AP class would be 5 points, a B would be 4 and so on...
Add up all your points and divide by the total number of classes.
Don't forget to throw away your non-academic classes such as PE, Health, etc., they aren't included in the GPA calculation.

so do they just calculate the math, science, social studies, language and english courses?

All students are evaluated based on a UF GPA calculation (not the GPA provided by the high school) which takes into consideration grades in English, Math, Natural Science, Social Science, Foreign Language and AP/IB Academic Electives. In our calculation, AP, AICE and IB courses are each given 1 additional point weight while honors and dual enrollment courses are each given an additional .5 point weight.

Yeah (10 Char.)

thanx much!!

do you know if out of state honors courses are weighted? because i'm also considering colleges in california, and they won't weight any out of state honors because they're not "uc approved" or whatever.

i hope my honors courses are weighted.. cuz then i'm at like a 4.47... i love the not counting gym, etc, and stuff part!

they recalculate your GPA for you. don't worry about your unweighted GPA.

an important thing to note: dual enrollment classes will now be weighted +1.0 starting for students applying for freshmen admission in 2009.

^^^^^WHAT?!?!?!

I could have used that last year!
